Govt Approved Funds for Electricity in MIKD Multan


MULTAN—Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) imposed over Rs 959 million fine on 225,303 pilferers during the fiscal year 2015-16. According to Mepco sources, various teams referred 4,326 applications to police stations for lodging FIRs against pilferers at nine operation cirlces from July 2015 to May 2016.

The teams also recovered over Rs 626 million from power pilferers and deposited to the revenue department. Meanwhile, the Government has approved funds for dual source electricity connection and gas supply for the Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases (Kidney Center).

This was stated by Kidney Centre Executive Director Dr M Rafique Anjam talking to reporter on Friday.

He said Rs 8.5 million for dual source electricity connection and Rs 3.7million for gas supply would be released in the next week. He added that OPD of Kidney Center would start working in Ramzan after releasing required funds.

Dr Rafique Anjam said that he has submitted a request to the secretaryhealth for provision of a Pathologist in the hospital. He added the request had been approved and appointment of the official would be possible in the next week.

It may be important to note here that the center is providingfacilities of Kidney transplant with treatment of other diseases of kidney in South Punjab.
